Teachers from DCC dressed up as characters from books, to promote reading in the college, as part of their World Book Day celebrations.
Many of the staff chose to get involved, which caused a buzz among the students and discussions about their own favourite books and characters.
Students were invited to compete to guess as many costumes as they could and there will also be a prize for the best dressed member of staff, as voted by the students.
Mrs Wright, who organised the event and dressed as Miss Trunchbull from Matilda, said "I'm really pleased that so many of our staff chose to take part. We've had characters from Oliver Twist and Jane Eyre, to The Cat in The Hat and even Charlotte, the spider from Charlotte's web. Many students were stunned as we all came out of briefing in character and really seem to appreciate the effort we have gone to. It's fabulous and I hope that next year, we can involve the students too."
