Stuart Milk is a global LGBT activist and the nephew of Harvey Milk, who was one of the first openly gay elected officials. He served less than a year before his brutal assissination, but his life now serves as an inspiration for millions of people across the globe.
Stuart has travelled to every part of the globe spreading Harvey's struggle for justice, equality and civil rights and the school is delighted to welcome such a prominent political activist to Tameside.
'Despite all the progress that has been made, homophobia is still a huge problem within secondary schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to meet an inspiring LGBT activist as we work towards stamping out homophobia for good'. Chris Everitt ( Teacher of IT)
